Explore & Play
Start the morning with open-ended free play to spark your child's imagination! We provide a variety of toys -- trucks, rockets, blocks of all kinds, tactile toys, pretend foods, and more. This moment of unstructured play fosters creativity, encourages children to explore the world in their own way, and allows children to socialize with their peers. Explore & Play also offers an opportunity for the adults to engage in meaningful play with their children and form connections with other caregivers.
The doors will open at exactly 9:30 and we will begin to pick up at 10:00.

Coffee Break
The only thing better than reading a good book is reading a good book and then talking about it with fellow book lovers. Every month we read a preselected book and then meet to discuss it. The Adult Services Librarian guides the discussion, but attendees are encouraged to bring up their own desired topics for the group to talk about, and we like to keep it loose and let the conversation flow naturally. The book club reads primarily fiction titles, but we change things up with a non-fiction title from time to time. Click here to view the current reading list.

Tween Art Class
Monthly art classes for tweens Registration Required Step into your artistic journey at the Benbrook Library! Be introduced to the elements of art, examine historical or contemporary artists, and develop artistic skill. Paints, pencils, inks, or watercolors will be used by your “young Van Gogh” to create a masterpiece in every session. Supplies will be provided by the library. These classes are for beginning artists, ages 9 through 12. It is important to note that artists who participate should be able to follow instructions, complete the project within the time allotted, and clean up their tools before the end of class. Please dress appropriately to create! Our tween programs are designed for tweens only. If your tween needs parental help for these classes please talk to a library staff member before signing up. Upon registration, sign up for reminder notices from the instructor by texting @3fgc3g to the number 81010. You will be informed about the artistic medium used and will be able to view a sample of the artwork that will be created in class.

Mindfulness
Mindfulness helps bring more awareness to the processes of our mind so that our bodies can be more present in the world. Join us each month to reflect and pause together in mindful ways. We will discover together how to experience life more fully, bring calm into our life situations, and move forward with purpose and focus. Practicing mindfulness with a group helps to expand and accelerate your own growth and awareness. During each session, we will meditate together, journal together, and share together. By listening intently to others and sharing deeply from your own hearts, we can establish a lasting mindfulness routine together.
