Learn about the differences between natural aging and the early warning signs of dementia in this health and wellness program sponsored by Bright Star Care and Leslie Cowdrey from New York Life. 

Janet Standifer, M.Ed. CCC/SLP, will lead the conversation with compassion and empathy while providing information on effective communication, techniques and tools, strategies to reduce care partner burnout, additional resources, and next steps.

Open to all families with a loved one living with any form or stage of dementia.

Dementia Specialist

Janet Standifer holds a Master’s Degree, Board Certified and Licensed Speech Pathologist of 42 years, and a Certified Dementia and Geriatric Specialist.  

As a Speech Pathologist, she practiced in multiple medical settings to include the hospital, home health, skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, and outpatient clinics which allowed for diversified experiences with multiple neurologically impaired populations.  

To meet the needs of the community, Janet created the company, J Standifer Consulting, LLC: DBA Dementia in Perspective in 2018. As a Dementia and Geriatric Specialist, she conducts private consultations for families and direct, hands-on education and training with healthcare and non-healthcare professionals. 

Janet has the passion to make a difference by increasing awareness in the community about dementia through podcasts, speaking engagements, support groups and provides extensive education and training for the families and other Care Partners.
