The Benbrook Public Library is exploring the creation of a newly formed consortium this fall named the MetroShare. Joining with Bebrook's current catalog interface, the MetroShare libraries will include Burleson, Forest Hill, Haltom City, Keller, Richland Hills, and Watauga. We anticipate a cooperative model that takes resource sharing to the next level and we expect to grow the MetroShare across the north central Texas region. We have already submitted a grant application to the state library, who supports such a project, and we are confident we can bring this concept forward. Stayed tuned in the next few weeks as we release more information on how this model will look and feel. We think you will be very pleased. To view the grant application, click here.
This year AARP will NOT be coming to Benbrook Public Library. They are only going to a very few libraries (we don't yet know which ones). For more information about AARP and their contact information, click on this link. The contact email is email@example.com and the toll-free number is 888-687-2277.
With the recent changes in regards to the mask mandates, we will be moving forward with further opening the library.
Masks are no longer required. We recognize personal responsibility for both staff and patrons and will not tolerate unpleasant behavior towards others. The library will be resuming our regular hours starting Monday, March 8th, which are Monday through Thursday, 8 AM to 8 PM, Friday and Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM. More computer stations will be available as well as library booths and laptops that can be checked out and used throughout the library. We will start evaluating in-person storytime and other programming soon.
Curbside will still be available during operating hours, and we will have hand sanitizer and gloves readily available at the library.
